Financial Director
You’re a Financial Director and today you have a visitor.
Here’s the way of it. Your door opens and in walks the Chairman, or Trouble as he’s known. But this morning Trouble is wearing a smile - or is it a smirk? Trouble says:
‘Tell me, how much do meetings cost the company every year?’
You reply: ‘Well, roughly about…’
‘No, not roughly, to the penny.’
‘Err…’
Trouble, who obviously has something up his sleeve, says: ‘Would you like to know? Exactly?’
‘Yes.’
‘And would you like to cut those costs, whatever they are?’
‘Yes.’
Trouble continues – and by now you realise it’s definitely a smirk: ‘I’m talking of paring the cost of everything, from venues to the last plate of sandwiches. Good idea?’
‘Yes.’
‘Once and for all stopping the outflow of all those hidden, unidentified monies that invisibly drain our budgets. Like that, would you?’
‘Yes.’
You say: ‘Okay, what have you found? What is this magic wand? What does it do? How much does it cost? Where can I get it?’
A big smirk now from Trouble.
‘It’s a simple online download I discovered. A professional meeting management software tool, called 2MuchTalk. It’s free for meetings of up to six people. And £24 for meetings of up to 25 people.’
By now you’re really starting to sit up and take notice.
And, funnily enough, so are other Financial Directors, throughout the land.
